I am a Chef Lecturer at Westminster Kingsway College in London and have been using Coast & Kitchen as my main fish supplier for over 20 years when, I was teaching at our site in Battersea, and currently in Victoria.
Coast & Kitchen have a team of about 11, the service that they provide is second to none, nothing is too much trouble, and second and third deliveries are not a problem if needed. Dealing with them is a real pleasure as they are extremely knowledgeable and resourceful and will go out of their way to provide top quality fish and shellfish, sourcing fish directly from Scotland when something I specifically need for our restaurants in college may be unavailable or in short supply at Billingsgate. As a college specialising in teaching chefs from the age of 16-60 new to the profession and experienced chefs, our needs differ from other establishments, for instance, whenever I need a selection of exotic fish for a lesson, they will go out of their way to source attractive and unusual fish providing us with relevant information about the species to pass on to our students.
They welcome us and our students to visit their premises and see the team at work and then take the students on a tour of the market sharing with them their knowledge of fish and shellfish, with particular
emphasis on sustainability, which is a subject that is most important to us as chefs and Coast & Kitchen as suppliers.
